Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of
SISTER LINET KEMUMA MAKORI
who died at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research hospital, Nairobi on 11th March 2025

Linet Kemuma Makori was born on 10th of August 1995 in Nyamiobo Parish, Kisii Diocese, to Peter Makori and Truphena Kemunto. She had three sisters and two brothers.
Linet joined the Congregation as a pre-novice in Luanda on 11th September 2015. She entered the Novitiate in Nairobi on 14th January 2017 and made her First Profession on 8th December 2018. Sr. Linet studied for a Diploma in Social Work and graduated on 28th October 2022 at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) and a Certificate in Leadership offered by African Sisters Education Collaborative-SLDI

After her First profession, Sr. Linet was appointed to St. Joseph Convent, Luanda, where she administered St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Centre for off-street boys. In January 2022, she was appointed to Holy Family Convent, Kisumu as a master trainer in a project called ‘Strengthening the Capacity of Religious Women in Early Childhood’ (SCORE ECD). In April 2023, Linet was appointed to Our Lady of Divine Providence in the diocese of Kisii to work in the diocesan development office.

Linet was much appreciated by everyone; she was welcoming, softly spoken, flexible and easy to relate to. In every ministry, she was committed and responsible and was a peaceful presence in the community. She played the shaker with style and love. She was close to her family, which brought her much joy.

As part of her preparation to make perpetual profession she went to Uganda on a thirty-day retreat in November 2024 together with Sr. Emily and Sr. Beverlyn when she felt ill and was brought to Kisumu, Kenya for treatment. Despite being sick she managed to commit herself to the Lord by making her Perpetual Profession on Wednesday 18th December 2024.
In January she was admitted to Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital. Unfortunately Sister was diagnosed with a fast spreading cancer. The Sisters, along with her mother, brother, and other family members, took turns visiting her and they continuously assured her that many others were praying for her.
Sadly, her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she passed away peacefully at 1:50 p.m. (East African Time). on the 11th March at the age of 29. Sr Medrine Musundi, Sr. Margaret Tambasi, and Sr. Christine Onsongo were present with her at the time of her passing.
The funeral Mass will be held on March 24, 2025, at Nyabururu Parish, Kisii Diocese, where she will be laid to rest in the Diocesan Cemetery in Nyabururu on the same day.
MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.
