Sister Anne Moore, Congregational Leader, has written a Lenten letter reminding us of the reason for the Season of Lent. Quoting Oscar Romero she wrote: Lent is a"an opportunity to allow the Lord’s grace to enter and do the rest”. Her letter reflects our call to focus on the needs of the poor, particularly striking to her because of her recent visit to Kenya. However, she reminds us that we could replace "Migrants or foreigners" with disabled, the sick who can't afford treatment, slum dwellers, the homeless etc. She challenges us to "let the Holy Spirit lead us into the depths of ourselves, into the wilderness, where the Lord will renew us."
